This reading log encourages writing in response to reading. Having students write about what they read and share their responses helps to build comprehension.
Directions For Student:
Your job as a reader is to read daily and reflect on your reading. Your reflection may be a summary of what you read, a text connection, a question/wonder you still have, a description of story elements, a description of how you worked on your reading goal, or anything else that shows your are thinking about what you read. Make sure you also record the book title, book genre, and minutes read. A parent must sign for each log entry.
I know we all have days that we are busy or don’t feel like reading. Because of this I allow one skip day. The day you skip is your choice. This means you may choose 6 out of 7 days a week to read. You may put an X through your skip day.
