The best way for students to become better readers is by reading. Use these April and May Reading Logs as a way to track students' reading at school or at home. There is a separate log for April and May. Reading is always a great way to end the school year! There is space for each day in April and May to record the book title, author, start and end page, total pages read, total minutes read, level, genre, and date the book was finished. At the end of the reading log there is an area to create a reading goal, total minutes read, total days read, and parent signature. There is also a rubric that can be used with these logs that averages minutes read, days read, and how the log is filled out. I have used this type of log for homework with my 4th graders for the past few years and have found that they are reading more than ever!
If you liked using this reading homework in April and May, check out the reading logs I created for next school year.
