Description
This reading response journal is intended for students in first, second and third grade. Geared toward students reading at a DRA 20, 24, 28 (Guided Reading K, L, M). Allows students to practice writing the book title, author, date, making predictions, beginning/middle/end summary (retelling), author's message/theme, identifying important details and giving an opinion. Includes a list of common themes for students to reference.
The questions for Level 4 are:
Prediction: What are 3 things you think will happen in the story after you read the first 3 pages?
Vocabulary: List any words you don't know the meaning of while you read.
What happened in the story?
What do you think the author was trying to tell you in the story?
What do you think was the most important thing that happened? Why?
What was your favorite part? Why was that your favorite part?
