Reading logs can often be hassle, both for teachers and students. This reading log is meant to be used for students in grades K-2. Students simply write the title of their book and make a tally for each time they read it that week. This is great to use with Daily 5 or any other system in which students are choosing their own books and reading them throughout the week. You can also add lines so that there are spaces additional books.
This helps you see students' reading preferences and gives you a jumping off point for reading conferences. Another option is to have students use a different color crayon for each day (Red=Monday, Orange=Tuesday, Green=Wednesday, Blue=Thursday, Purple=Friday) that way you can see when students read each book.
