Product Description
This product is the part of a series of monthly reading log and book response pages. My littles will complete these pages during their independent reading time...they will work with any book they are reading (fiction and nonfiction are included.) I included a cover page in case you want to staple the entire packet for your littles to work on throughout the month! This would also be perfect to put in a listening station, or buddy reading! Students could fill out the sheets together after they read a book together!

For kinder babies, or firsties who aren't yet reading, you could send the reading log home for parents to fill out and students can fill out the response sheets after class read alouds.

Here is what is included in the pack
Reading Log (There are two versions...one for students to write if it is fiction/nonfiction and the date, and one for younger learners who just write the title and rate the book...)

{Fiction}
My Favorite Part- Students draw and write about their favorite part
Read and Retell- Students write about the beginning, middle, and end
Sequence It- Students write/draw about the story using first, next, then, and last
Chilly Predictions- Students make 2 predictions before reading and then tell if their prediction was right or wrong
Cool Character Portraits- Students draw 2 pictures of the main character
Problem and Solution- Students draw/write about the problem and solution in the story
What I'm Thinking- Students write about what they are thinking in the Beginning, Middle, and End of the book
Sunny Setting- Students draw/write about the setting of the book

{Either}
Word Wall Words- Students write words in their book that are on the word wall
That Reminds Me- Students make a connection to their book and write and draw about it
Noun Hunt- Students find nouns in their book and write them
Author's Purpose- Students draw and write about the author's purpose for writing the book

{Nonfiction}
Time for Questions- Students write 4 questions they have about the topic after reading
Tell Me the Details- Students draw and write 3 details and the main idea from their book
Snorkel Surprises- Students draw and write about something they learned that surprised them
Very Important Words- Students choose 4 important vocabulary words, illustrate them, and use them in a sentence
Swim in to Diagrams- Students draw a diagram about the topic of their book

I will definitely model these for my students before they do them independently. This is a great way to differentiate...some sheets are more challenging than others, and some can be done with just drawing (and no writing).
