This sheet is passed out the first week of February so that parents and students have enough time to search for hats and choose the book that they want to do a report on. I allow students to choose their favorite book that they've read so far this school year. Students find a hat that they would imagine the main character wearing and dangle the story elements in a mobile fashion. The alternative way to report would be for them to make a cereal box report. (Most students choose the mobiles.) They look awesome lining our hallways during Reading Month!
