Looking for a fun way to practice stem direction with your students?
This fun activity includes:
*Five pages of three patterns each:
Students have to choose which robot's pattern is written correctly with regards to stem direction and length. Watch out...if the students choose incorrectly, their robot breaks! The PDF is hyperlinked, and can be manipulated from a SMART board, any other interactive board, or the teacher's computer (projected onto a white screen or television)
*Directions on how to use the activity,
with suggestions for formative and summative assessment
The activity can be used with students in grades one and above (even upper elementary students would enjoy it!) This product focuses on notes on the third line and below, with stems going up and to the right. The next set will focus on stems going down and to the left (for the third line and above), and the set after that will focus on the entire staff as well as beamed notes (with one note being below the third line and one note being above the third line.)
