Description
Each group of my Reading Practice Sentences contains 5 main sets (and several bonus sets!) to be printed and assembled with file folders. For each set, you get:
- 2 pages with 8 sentences
- a full color PDF with 12 images
- a full color answer sheet for student self-correction
- a full color cover image with 4 bonus graphics for extra use

Sentences combine practice sounding out words with recognition of high frequency words (Dolch words / sight words) such as: the, you, my, see, like, do, have, & are
This is the perfect activity for students who need sight word practice. Many young readers are expected to learn a certain number of sight words each quarter, but aren't given opportunities to practice and become familiar with them. This is a fun way to gently reinforce those super-important words!
P.S. Because each set has a self-correcting answer sheet, they can be used as Montessori work.
P.P.S. While the main goal of these sentence sets is to familiarize children with the concept of sounding words out - and thus the sentence variation is mostly CVC words - the sentences also provide practice with the most common high frequency words. Their volume is gradually increased with each set as the student becomes more experienced at reading sentences and thus more ready to be exposed to new "sight" words - for a cumulative total of 50 high frequency or "sight" words.
