Listening and Reading Comprehension

These worksheets are to help with reading comprehension and listening skills. I would use listen, read and color sheet a lot during my ELA and ESL/EFL teaching and found they were very effective when I used them with dictation and comprehension.

There are 20 worksheets and they come in pre-made (10) and fill-in-the blank (10) types.

There are two types of worksheets.

1. (Pre-Made) Read and Color: Students will read the sentences, and color the picture according to what they read.

2. (Fill in the blank) Listen, Read, and Color. I would read the sentences and then students would fill in the blanks with the correct word. These sheets have more flexibility for you to choose what the students write into the blanks. You can also have students do these in pairs as partner work. Use the pre-made sheets as a road map, or students can choose what they want partners to write in the blanks.

Sentences: The sentences are systematic and use beginner sentence patterns that are traditionally learned with SIGHT WORDS. The formats focus on "I am, I have, I wear" First Person, and "This is, She has, Her" Third person/possessive forms. There is also differentiation, as the latter worksheets go up in reading level.
