Have your students keep track of their own Accelerated Reader, or Renaissance Place, points. They set their own goal, or work toward the goal set for them by the teacher. Each week they check their points and then deduct how many points they have left to go. There is also a coloring tracking sheet. I usually require my students to read two fiction and two nonfiction books each period, passing with at least 80%. When they accomplish this, they color in that section of the picture.
