This packet includes three pages. The first is a set of reflection questions that your students can ask themselves before and after their reading. It will make them think more deeply. The second is a reading log. My students are required to read for 30 minutes, 4 times a week. They are to record their reflection in the box. They are also to record the pages read. This way, you can keep track of their reading speed and comprehension. The last page includes a survey that students will fill out after they finish reading a book. It allows them to connect the content with the author, the overall message the book sends, and whether or not they would recommend it to a peer. These three pages proved to be very useful and resourceful for my sixth grade students last year. They were focused and were able to get a lot more out of a book than just doing a book report. I am confident you will have similar successes with it in your classroom!
