THIRD Grade Editable Homework Reading Log

Need to assign reading homework, but want to engage students with choice? This weekly homework reading log resource is for you! It provides you with 36 weeks of grade-appropriate reading homework logs full of questions from every CCSS reading standard for literature and informational text.

Each reading log contains ten questions - four are for fiction texts, four for nonfiction, one reflection question, and one free choice option. No two logs are the same.

After completing their independent nightly reading, third grade students choose a question that best fits their book and respond in the space provided. They are encouraged to choose a different question each night so that they work on multiple reading skills throughout the week and all standards throughout the year.

This resource provides you with an entire year’s worth of NO PREP reading homework. All you have to do is print! PLUS – just in case you want to change something – an editable Google Doc is included so that you can edit the text to your heart’s content.

THIRD Grade Editable Reading Response Task Cards

This resource contains over 300 editable task cards covering all third grade reading standards for literature and informational text. That's easily enough task cards to last all year long. These Independent Reading Response Task Cards provide students with meaningful skill practice while keeping them accountable for their independent reading.

After reading during center, partner, or independent work, students choose cards that are appropriate for their books and complete responses to “show what they know.” The cards cover fiction, nonfiction, and reflection topics and can be used with any text.

If you want to personalize the resource, simply use the editable version. All text included in the resource is editable using Google Slides.
