Product Description
After working on Main Idea and Supporting details, I use this graphic organizer to have them identify and respond to their texts. The idea is that they practice lifting lines from what they have read, key ideas or parts that have stood out to them and respond to them. Using their text evidence, they support their opinions, arguments, ideas, connections, etc. This is a really good tool to get students thinking and holding them accountable for reading more deeply. By responding to text in this format, students are doing more than just summarizing their texts.
