Reading Response Improv Cards are a fun way for your students to share what they are reading with the rest of the class. I have created 36 cards for responding to informational text. Each card has a task which instructs the student on how they should act out their reading response. Attach the cards to craft sticks, have students pick their card from a jar, or pass them out. Present individually, in partners, or groups. The choice is yours!
Why improvisation? Improv helps students practice creative thinking skills, engages students in their learning, builds confidence, allows use of multiple intelligences, and gives students practice in respecting other student's ideas. Your students will also get a chance to practice important speaking and listening skills, too.
