A simple reading response journal that will hold your students accountable for the reading they do in or out of the classroom.
After finishing a book or a section of text, students determine whether the text is fiction or non-fiction. Based on the type of book they are reading, they will choose an appropriate journal prompt, list the date they are using that prompt, and will write in their reading response journal about their reading. The checklist is included to be sure that students use a variety of prompts in their writing.
This pack would be suitable for use in the classroom after independent reading or as a reading log to be used as a component of a home reading program.
Simply choose the cover you would like for a given student, copy the list of prompts and the prompt checklists and make as many copies of the appropriate paper as you would like. **In my multi-age classroom I use three different types of paper with my learners so that they are each using a style that will work best for them!
