PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In Reading Journal: Writing About Reading, by the2teachers, you will receive 161 pages. This product contains 52 unique journal prompts in 3 different formats to help prepare students for language that may appear on standardized tests.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
⁃ Where appropriate, the same prompt is repeated using the language "story", "passage", and "book" to assist students in becoming familiar with the language that is required on your state standards/standardized tests. This is where the 150+ count for prompts comes from...please note that the pricing reflects the repetition of prompts - you are not being charged for the same product with slightly different language. That is included, at no additional cost! You can just print the section of the product that best meets your needs.
⁃ This product is able to be used with fiction, nonfiction, drama and poetry.
Please see the thumbnail that contains the Table of Contents for the types of prompts that are included in this product.
⁃ Each writing prompt is approximately a 1/2 sheet of paper. The same prompt is repeated twice per page, to make copying easier for you. The prompts are easy on ink - the little bit of color on each prompt will print easily in gray scale. Please Note: the Writing About Reading Prompts all have the same "template/format", however, the focus of the writing is varied as described in the description and thumbnail of the table of contents.

PRODUCT USES:
⁃ These prompts can be used as formative or summative assessments.
⁃ They could even be used as homework assignments.
⁃ You could allow students to self-select the Writing About Reading prompt that they would like to use.
⁃ You could assign a prompt for student use to target focus skills.

HOW WE USE THIS PRODUCT:
⁃ Students are given a reading focus (according to the prompt), they read for a preset amount of time, after the reading time is over, they use the prompt to write about their reading.
⁃ The prompts are put into the back section of their Interactive Reading Notebooks as a collection of their thinking/writing about reading for the year.
⁃ We use this information to form our future instruction during whole group and/or small group.
