This document includes a list of student friendly response starters for both fiction and nonfiction texts. This is intended for students build writing skills as they respond to their reading during independent reading time. I had students glue this into the front of their Reading Response Journals so that they could easily access it during independent time.
This document also includes a cover page for students. The cover page includes exit directions for their daily responses, as well as options for what to do after they complete their response.
I utilized this in addition to Daily 5 and CAFE materials.
