Just a little lit log! Not a big project, just a quick and easy way to find out if your students are doing what good readers do during reading. This resource contains pages for short responses to questions about strategies and a place to save sticky notes after finishing the book. The front cover is blank, waiting for a new cover design for the book that was read.
These little lit logs are easy to create by printing front to back and then folding. You can staple if you’d like, but my students haven’t found staples necessary. Students can tuck their little lit log inside the book they are reading or in a notebook or folder.
Students take their little lit logs to book club discussions or to conferences with you. It’s a great way for kids to check back on what they were thinking during reading and for you to be sure they were using strategies.
