I use this reading response log with my third graders to track their comprehension and to keep them accountable for daily reading at home. Students complete it at home, have it signed by an adult, and turn it in every Friday.
A typical "goal" for my students' response logs is to read 15-20 minutes five times a week for a total of 75-100 minutes.
In this resource, students have space to write longer responses, 4-5 sentences. It's great for classrooms practicing the art of writing paragraphs. I created this when my higher-level students asked for more space on our typical reading log. (They didn't have to ask me twice!)
