This unit is made up of six literature and non-fiction reading response sheets and an Excel book-tracking sheet that is able to be fully modified and is not locked in any way.
The reading response sheets offer different ways for a student to respond to literature they have read. There is place at the top of the sheets for students to enter a name, date, class period, book title, author, number of pages, and Lexile level of the book.
The book-tracking sheet has seven tabs for seven different class periods. The document can be modified, so that you can add student names, change fonts, change headers for each quarter, and more. I have used standard PowerPoint fonts, so that there will be no chance of custom fonts not showing up. The spreadsheets print out to more than one page so they can be assembled as a poster and mounted in the classroom. Please check out my preview to see a PDF version of two class periods.
I have used this to track my students reading as they cover at least five books each quarter. I generally require that three of the five books be within their Lexile range.
