PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This set of student response templates includes writing sheets that can be used with any fiction (literature) or nonfiction (informational) text you choose.

The templates are open-ended and vary in task and difficulty level so you can differentiate instruction for your students, not only across the primary grades, but within your classroom, too. Children are encouraged to think, draw, write, and share as they respond to the books they are listening to or reading on their own.

If you design your instruction around the Common Core State Standards, these templates are in alignment with those expectations and will support your teaching. They also cover different levels of complex thinking and encourage higher-level reasoning as children are asked to synthesize, evaluate, create, provide evidence, and more.
