Reading Review Bingo is a great way to review story content AND reading strategy/skill application!
This fun and educational game can be easily applied to ANY text (fiction or nonfiction) with a narrative structure.
Reading Review Bingo is perfect for practicing the use of multiple skills and strategies with a single text (as students are expected to do on PARCC, AIR, Smarter Balanced, and other state standardized assessments).
This game puts a fun spin on typical reading review, and you can use it again and again with multiple texts throughout the year!
Review the following skills and strategies with ANY narrative text:
compare and contrast
point of view
text to self connections
text to text connections
Game play basics: 25 general skill/strategy questions are cut up and placed in a bag. The teacher pulls one question at a time and reads it aloud. Students first answer this question on their student answer sheets, and then mark off the square for this question on their bingo cards. Play until a student gets a bingo, or until multiple students have had a chance to win. The longer the game is played, the more concepts are reviewed!
-35 randomized student bingo cards
-set of teacher cards and questions
-4-page student worksheet to complete as game is played
