Product Description
Have you ever wanted your students to work in independent reading groups. Model and practice how groups will read through a passage and stop to ask understanding questions. Students can work through reading passages or test prep passages as you work in small groups or float from group to group to listen in on their thinking. Students work best when paired with the same or similar abilities. This gives you time to work with groups who may need more guidance.

Directions:
Pair students in groups of 4-5.
Model for the students how they will read their job card.
Blank lines are where students will insert the name of someone from their group.
The Director will ask team members to read aloud sections of the text. The Summarizer will have the team summarize sections after each person reads. This will be a quick check for understanding. These should be short and brief.
The Questioner will guide their group through the assessment questions. Making sure the group highlights or underlines key words in the question stem.
The Clarifying Spy has the team work together to find evidence within the text to prove their answer. Whether the answer is a RIGHT there or an INFERENCE question students will need to find text evidence to prove their answer.
Hawk Eyes checks to make sure that every teammate answered the question and showed their work.
