Repetition is key in education. There are multiple ways to assess what students know as well as keep things at the front of the brain for accurate recall. One aspect most of the students struggle with when testing, is understanding and remembering academic terms. Constantly and consistently reviewing the academic terms taught is key for recall and memorization success. Crossword puzzles are just one way I like to assess what my students remember and know. Putting a timer with this can help the teacher identify which students really know their words. Lets face it, the sneaky and oh so clever students know to count the boxes. Use this at as a pre-quiz, homework, warm up, or quick recall. Whatever you choose, I hope you and your students enjoy another simple way to review and learn academic terms.
