These task cards were created using Texas standards (TEKS) and are modeled after the question stems and language found in the STAAR test. They can be used in 3rd through 5th grade classrooms, as they were modeled on tests from these grade levels. I personally like having a deck of task cards that can meet the needs of a classroom with differentiated needs.

HOW TO USE
Part 1 Text-Based are ready to print, cut and laminate.
Part 2 Open-Ended: choose a text from the 3 provided or use your own text.
Print the cards, cut down the middle, and laminate (for longer use). You can store them in baggies, plastic boxes, on a ring... the possibilities are endless! Use these cards in stations, independent work, group work, as a warm up, as an exit ticket, in classroom discussions, for fast finishers… however you like!
I personally like to keep the answer sheets with the totaled % of mastery for data tracking purposes. See how your kids are progressing, which standard they need more help with, etc.
