By Claire Guidry: This is a talking word list that allows children to sit by self and hear words repeated over as many times as needed in order to learn the words. Some children need to hear words many times before they can retain words into the long term memory.
This word list is part of a series for teaching children how to read, starting with the alphabet, to sounding out words then on to reading stories. Please check out the rest of the series, which includes stories with pictures, to see what best fits your child’s/students’ needs.
I have learned that on some people’s computers SWF files do not open simply.
The Ebooks are made using SWF files.
If once you download the file and are not able to open it please read below:
When you try to open up the file, a pop up screen may say that your computer can’t open it. This is what you need to do.
Step 1 Download the Ebook file from Teachers Pay Teachers
Step 2 Go to your computer’s start up menu and find the DOWNLOADS file folder click on it
Step 3 Scan your DOWNLOADS until you find the SWF file or PDF file with the title you downloaded under it. (I noticed when I used a computer that did not have ADOBE PROFESSIONAL on it, the file saved as a PDF file instead of as a SWF file.)
Step 4 Minimize the screen
Step 5 Open internet web screen (Google Chrome is good)
Step 6 Minimize web screen temporarily
Step 7 Click and drag the DOWNLOADED file to the web screen browser
Step 8 The DOWNLOADED file should open quickly
I suggest saving the file to a flash drive then you can play the down loaded files on any computer. Feel free to duplicate as many times as you wish for free.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Computer access with Adobe Flash Player and speakers are needed to run and hear the file.
You can go to the following to download the flash player for free (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html)
A large percentage of my kindergarten students are reading and writing at a mid-first grade level and higher by the end of the school year. Some are reading 80+ words per min. and writing 5 sentences tied together on one topic.
