This packet was created to use with the book Crazy Hair Day by Barney Saltzberg.
Characterization (pgs. 2-3)- students will describe the main character.
Sequencing (pgs. 4-12)- 3 different activities 1) number the sentences in the correct order. 2) put sentence strips in the correct oder in a pocket chart or on the floor. 3) cut and paste sentences in the correct order.
Beginning, middle & end (pgs. 13-15)- students will write and or draw the important events depending on their level.
Writing - How to & descriptive (pgs. 16-19)- students will draw a picture of their crazy hair day do and then either write how they did it, or what it looks like.
Graphing - (pgs. 20-22)- using a spinner or asking classmates students will tally responses to the question "Would you have put something crazy on your head for your class picture?". They will then color in the graph and write a true statement about the graph.
Glyph - (pg. 23)- students will color Stanley according to the answers they give.
