Even though you may teach your reading skills explicitly, it is beneficial to review these periodically with your students. I created a Reading Skills Review chart that allows for students to practice their recall of reading skills, definitions, and examples/key words. This resource can be used throughout the year as a "quick check" as well as allow you to pinpoint areas that students may still struggle with. The wording used comes explicitly from Common Core State Standards and the Georgia Standards of Excellence. This activity can be used in a large group, small group, or independent station. I usually make several copies, color coding the definitions as one color and the key words/examples on another. The opportunities with this resource are endless!
