Product Description
This smart board lesson focuses on the skills of drawing conlcusions and infering from a picture book. The students are asked to think about what it means to draw conclusions and are given a few slides to discuss and define the meaning. They are then introduced to a graphic organizer to organize their thinking and remind them to use their "schema" or background knowledge as well as text evidence to draw a conclusion. The smart board is written to go along with the picture book "The Stranger" by Chris Van Allsburg which provides lots of opportunity to draw conclusions and infer. The smart board ends with some leading questions to help them with some conclusions. It also reviews prefixes and suffixes as an extention. The second half of the smart board uses the picture book "A Visitor for Bear" which also gives the students many opportunities to draw conclusions. There is also a prefix/Suffix review slide as well for each picture boook.
