Want help being a successful reader? This bookmark gives 6 reading strategies to use while reading fiction, non-fiction, short passages or chapter books.
The 6 strategies include: schema, determining importance, inferring, questioning, visualizing, and synthesizing.
I give this to my students each September. The strategies are in the order that we work on them throughout the year. Once we learn a new strategy we look at that section of the bookmark to remind us what to do while reading. I also give this bookmark to parents at Open House. In addition to letting them know what we are learning in reading it also allows them to use the same strategies and terms that we use in school.
I hope you and your students enjoy using this bookmark to help them become more successful readers.
