Up for consideration are 12 Reading Strategies Bookmarks in a variety of colors. Each bookmark reminds students how to read strategically, by looking ahead, keeping track, and remembering what they've read.
These bookmarks are a quick reference for the students...a here-at-a-glance resource.
A go-to guide during literacy stations and/or guided literacy.
Each bookmark says that when students READ, they should:
Read: titles, headings, vocabulary words, and captions
Look: pictures, maps, and graphs
Think: about what you will learn
Check: your understanding as you read
Ask: questions to clarify
Reread: if you need to
Look: back for information
Summarize: important details
Say: main idea in your own words
