These cheat sheets were created in order to remind students of the different reading strategies we have learned throughout the year. Topics include: inferencing, main idea (fiction and nonfiction), summarizing (fiction and nonfiction), word analysis, cause and effect, character and plot development, and drawing conclusions.
The cheat sheets offer an explanation of each skill, tips to answering questions of that askill, and actual question stems students might see on a test.
I made them so there are two per page. When using with my own students, I printed each skill on a different colored paper, laminated them, and had students keep them at their desk as we reviews for the end of the year testing.
