This Reading Strategies package has endless uses! This package includes 8 Four-Door foldables for introducing and reinforcing critical reading strategies. The foldables have a brief description of the strategy, guiding questions, and places for students to respond and practice. The back-side of each foldable has a place for additional notes so you have flexibility on how you would like to extend the learning.
Four-Door Foldables included:
• Making Predictions
• Making Connections
• Summarizing Informational Text
• Frayer Model
How to Use:
Use these foldables during any part of the gradual release process. They work great for modeled, shared, guided, or independent practice. The foldables can be used with any book selection that you are using to teach the reading strategy. As with any activity, make sure to model your expectations before requiring students to complete on their own.
Each foldable is a front-to-back sheet. Print the pages front-to-back. Next, fold both edges to the middle line to make a crease. Unfold and cut on the dotted lines marked with a scissor icon. Finally, fold the edges back to the middle line and you are ready to go!
