These strategies are reading strategies used in elementary grades. I have personally used these for Kindergarten through Fourth grade. The posters address main common comprehension and literacy strategies for any elementary classroom using any approach. Posters/cover pages for board or binders are included as well. Perfect for setting up your classroom for Back To School or as your focus for your ELA lessons and Units. Will accompany big box curriculum very well.
They align with basic skills for many elementary core reading programs. Remember, printers have different margin settings. In Acrobat you can set your printing to percentage of size and also select the landscape and fit to page option in the printer pop up..
These are great for using as objectives and goals. For each day, for each grade, and for each lesson, writing the lesson sequence and objectives on the board is good practice. These posters can add the skill/strategy used for any unit. I also used these to post with work students created that we placed on bulletin boards or in the hallways at school to show the strategies we worked on.
Teaching strategies explicitly is important for all students in these grades, as well as for language learners in any stage. Using some trusted processes and strategies will be useful for you and your students. Use what you know, build on what you know, the posters are great reminders. If you post your students’ work on the walls in your school, add the posters with the skills applied to amplify the effort.
Enjoy learning with your students! It is a great privilege to be the one to pass on knowledge!
