Teaching reading strategies is essential for comprehension mastery, especially with today's focus on Common Core in our curriculum. Instead of teaching a skill that may only apply to the story that you are reading at the time, focus on these strategies that will apply to all reading texts and push your students to higher level thinking:
Use these anchor charts on a board or wall in your classroom to help students remember what they should be doing as they read. These can also be a spring board for mini lessons if you teach Literature Circles!
