The Sleuth component of the Scott Foresman Reading Street (2013) series is a reader with short, high-interest complex text that engages and motivates students, while scaffolded instruction provides access for the different levels of readers in your classroom.
Each week, the Sleuth contains an additional piece of on-level text that encourages students to read like a detective. Build inquisitive readers with text and tasks that ask them to Look for Clues, Gather Evidence, Make their Case, and Prove It!
The Reading Street Sleuth can be used in Small Groups with various levels of students, so each student has the opportunity to experience the same grade-level text with scaffolded instruction and graphic organizers appropriate for their level.
This TPT product helps scaffold instruction by providing below (SI – Strategic Intervention) and on-level (OL) graphic organizers along with strategies to help students write text-based responses. This product includes Learning Targets and the RAPP (Restate, Answer, Provide Evidence and Proofread) technique as a way of helping students respond to text through written means.
