First Grade Reading Street Common Core CONNECT 4 Spelling Patterns UNIT 3
Engage your students with this fun partner game which provides practice with their spelling words. Your students will enjoy trying to be the first player to get four in a row on the game board.
There are two sets of 6 game boards included in this game:
• 6 games in which the students READ the word
• 6 games in which the students SPELL the word
Note: Both sets of game boards are the same but the directions are different.
I designed these games to give my students extra practice with the Unit 3 spelling words/patterns that are presented in the First Grade Reading Street Common Core (2013) series:
• A Place to Play (Vowel Sounds of Y)
• Ruby in Her Own Time (Consonant Patterns ng, nk)
• The Class Pet (Ending/Plural -es)
• Frog and Toad Together (Adding Endings)
• I’m a Caterpillar (Vowels: r-Controlled er, ir, ur)
• Where Are My Animal Friends? (Comparative Endings -er, -est)
So, gather up some dice and counting chips and have fun!
