QR Codes are a new, fun way to teach sight words in the classroom. My kindergartners LOVE using iPads to scan QR codes, read sight words, and write sight words.
This editable Microsoft Word document contains all 40 Sight Words in the current 2013 Scott Foresman Kindergarten Reading Street. The page order follows the order in Reading Street. Print the document, hang the QR Codes around the room, copy the writing paper, and you're set. Students can explore the classroom by finding a QR code, scanning it, reading the sight word, and writing it on their paper next to the matching picture. Students love it and administrators love seeing it in action.
Use this as part of your activity list, choice board, small group time, or invite the whole class to go on a scavenger hunt together!
*Due to the large number of sight words in Unit 4, there are two QR Code Scavenger Hunts for this unit. One features the sight words "are, that, do, here, go, from" and the other uses the sight words "one, two, three, four, five".
Happy scanning! :)
