Scott Foresman Reading Street Common Core Supplement: Grade 2 Fix-Its for Unit 2
If you are looking for an organized way to do some daily fix-its with your second grade class, then this may be helpful. This 33-page download provides you with 25 pages of daily fix-its, 5 writing pages that may be used for journal writing, and a cover page. There are two sentences on each fix-it page that are in need of corrections. The students simply read the sentences, look for the errors, and rewrite the sentences correctly on the lines provided. Students will then draw and color a picture for each of the sentences in the picture boxes that are provided at the top of the page. (I have my students number the sentences when writing them so that they correspond with the picture boxes.)
I used pocket folders to create a journal for each student, but you can simply staple the pages together to make the journal. A cover page is included with a space for the children to write their names. I also use some of the writing pages (included in this download) as part of their journals and have the students write stories. Another option is to hand out the sheets on a daily basis and put them in each child's writing folder upon completion.
