Thank you for checking the First Grade Reading Street Road Race games.
These games will reinforce your weekly high-frequency words throughout the YEAR. Use this activity within your literacy center small groups of at risk, on level and above level students. Once the students have learned the game, these games could be sent home for additional practice with parents. These games would also make for fun sight word review during summer school/camp!
These print and go games are INCREDIBLY LOW PREP. You can choose to laminate the game boards and game cards. However, all you must do, is cut out the game cards.
Two players can play on each game board. 4 color game boards, and 4 black and white game boards are included for each week. Each week’s game comes with game cards, and a header card to assist in your organization/storage of the games. Additionally, on the colored game boards, the race car in the top right corner corresponds with all of my Reading Street resources color coding. If you have other resources of mine, you will see how easily the color coding will help to keep you organized.
EDITABLE directions are also included so you can customize (if you wish) the directions for your students. The directions are designed to be printed and turned into pop-up table tents.
In this download, you also have a BONUS video that allows you to view the game in action. Being a visual learner myself, I thought this would be a handy addition. You may even want to share this video when introducing this game to your students.
