Included are all of the activities that you will need for six centers to reinforce “Snap”. This is a great supplement to use with your Reading Street Curriculum.
There are many printables that can be used for review sheets, morning work, and fun activities Common Core Standards are listed for the Language Arts and Math activities. There are High-Frequency Cards and Amazing Word Cards that can be used for display or teaching tools. There are also High-Frequency Words for your Word Wall.
Initial Sound Center –
Cut out pictures and glue in the correct initial sound box
Color boxes correctly according to initial and final sound
Write the beginning sound for each picture
Color the clown by reading words learned this week
High-Frequency Word Center –
Use cards with the high-frequency words as flashcards/
Use play-doe to spell each word/Use letter stamps to spell each word/
Color the boy playing in the sand by reading High-Frequency words
Phonics Center –
Use a magnifying glass and search for words and then write the words
Listening Center –
After listening to “Snap” answer questions about the story. Questions are included that review the comprehension skills for the week
Writing Center –
Write the letters Nn, Pp, and Cc on lined paper.
Match Amazing Words to their picture and definition.
Cut out the Amazing Words and match them to a picture
Draw nouns for places/
Cut out and sort nouns
(1) Count the dots/ Write the letter to make words learned this week.
(2) Color a hundred's chart to find a high-frequency word.
(3) Read “Snap”/ Highlight short a words/ Write the words
(4) Word Search for words of the week
(5) Color words that we have learned this week to color Hello Kitty
(6) Read “The Nap”/ Highlight short a words/ Write the words.
