This is a game bundle to make your like easier when you are teaching the Reading Street Grade 3 Unit 6 Week 3 story of Talking Walls. There are a total of 12 games to practice phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Phonics Skills- tion, sion, ture
~ Action Adventure- SW love this card game where they have to roll a die to see which ending they need to match using the cards in their hand. SW need to make the words by attaching the correct ending. The first player to match and get rid of all of their cards s the winner. This game comes with an recording sheet for accountability.
~ Build Me a Mansion- In this fast paced card game where students will be reading already generated words with the syllable endings. They will try to collect as many as they can w/o getting a malfunction card, where they have to return all of their cards to the pile. They will also love getting the payday card where they can trade stacks of cards with one other player.
~ Celebration Declaration- In this game SW be spelling complete words, using their spelling words for the week, by collecting tiles and sinning or rolling to determine which syllable ending they will need to build on. This is definitely a higher level working game. Accountability sheet is included.
~Time for a Vacation- SW make word matches based on the syllable patterns using -tion, -sion, and -ture. They will need to match 2 cards to form a correct word. An accountability sheet is included.
~ Wack-a-Mo- In this uno like card games SW start to become familiar with their spelling words that follow this syllable pattern. They will be using the word, color, or spelling pattern to try and be the first to get rid of all of their cards.
Grammar Skill- Combining Sentences
~Sentence Strike- SW be working to combine sentences with the same subject in this game. They will be able to see how when a sentence has the same subject they can easily be combined without a comma most of the time to avoid being too wordy. Their goal is to get a strike by being able to discard one bowling pin for each of the correct sentences they combine.
~ The Same Game- SW be working on combining sentences with the same predicate in this game. They will have to ask for a sentence from one player that has a matching predicate to their own. They will then have to combine the sentences by using the correct conjunction. The first player to get rid of all of their cards by matching them is the winner.
~ Swing for the Fence- SW be working to combine sentences that do not have the same subject or predicate in this game as they move closer to the fence. They will need to know how to use a comma and conjunction as well as the correct conjunction to fit in the sentence. All of the FANBOYS conjunctions are used in each of these games.

Reading Comprehension- Fact and Opinion
~Fact and Opinion Face Off- SW read a text or look at a picture and then make fact and opinion statements with their partner about the picture or text. For each fact or opinion they make they will get to move closer to the opposite goal. They will then record a set of fact and opinions.
~ Fact and Opinion Flip-Flop- SW buddy read a text and then flip a coin to determine if they will need to state a fact or opinion about the text they read. For each that they state correctly they will collect a puzzle piece to construct their puzzle. The winner is the player who makes their puzzle first.
These 2 Fact and Opinion games can be used with a lot of versatility.
Vocabulary Cards- SW have the word, definition, and a sentence the word will fit into for this station. There are 9 of the weeks selection vocabulary words.
