Description

Reading Task Card Sampler is a small set of eight task cards on a variety of reading skills, with both print and digital versions included. The cards introduce essential reading objectives that can each be found in more depth in full-size sets of cards in this store.

Here are the topics that are included:

•Characterization

•Settings

•Making Inferences

•Problem and Solution Text Structure

•Context Clues

•Summarizing

•Figurative Language

These cards support ELA standards for reading informational text and literature, especially those that relate to comprehension, vocabulary, and summarizing.

The task cards are designed specifically for middle school and upper elementary kids. The cards are large, two cards per page in the print version, and have more content per card than many smaller task cards –perfect for older kids who can handle more than one quick question per card.

A blank answer sheet for students to fill in their answers is included in the PDF.

Also included is a list of suggestions for ways to use task cards and a list of suggestions for easy differentiation with task cards.

The Easel version is ready for student use with one card per slide, and with directions and answer boxes already in place. The answer key has been removed from the Easel version.

For the Google Slides version, see Reading Task Card Sampler with Google Slides.
