Make test prep fun with a test prep carnival! Students will answer text dependent questions that are both multiple choice and short response. They will read rigorous passages and then answer the questions in order to earn tickets. These tickets can be used in your classroom carnival.

You can use real carnival games or just use board games!

Engagement- Students will be engaged from the beginning to the end of the challenges. They won't even realize how hard they are working and how much they are learning about hard skills!

Rigor- These challenges are HIGH LEVEL and make students really think about the text. They also work on many reading skills.

Low Prep- You can just print and do the challenge or you can go all out and transform your room! It truly is up to you!

You choose to do board games or real carnival games with the tickets.


Students have to prepare for state testing, there is just no way around it. But I like to make it engaging for them so they work hard! In this challenge they are engaged the entire time so that they can earn tickets to play games. They read and work on text dependent questions that are similar to what they see on testing. They don't even know they are preparing for the test!
