Reading Text Codes {An Annotation Guide}
This Text Code Annotation Guide goes hand in hand with any article or text.
Text coding, or annotating a text, is a great way to help students make their thinking while reading visible! My students often reflect how when they annotate while reading, it helps force themselves to think about the text more which helps their overall comprehension of the text.
While I typically use this with nonfiction texts, you can also use it with fictional texts as well.
