Interactive bookmarks, or what I called thinkmarks, that can be used for reading. Student use them to demonstrate reading strategies for guided reading, independent reading, literature circles or for homework.
Nine thinkmarks are included in the pdf: Word Wizard (using context clues), Fortune Teller (predicting), Summarizer, People Person (character traits), Deep Thinker (theme), Artist (visualizing), Discussion Director (asking questions), Location Tracker (describe the setting and how it influences the story) and Style Critique (write about the author's craft, such as use of language and structure of the text).
Each thinkmark also addresses citing evidence and examples.
My fifth graders love using these thinkmarks since they are interactive, relatively quick and help them engage in a variety of texts.
