PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Teaching with mysteries is like teaching inferring on accident! Characters responding to events/challenges, story structure, vocabulary, inferencing, synthesizing, and predicting, can all be found in this unit of study. Using mysteries to teach these standards really opened my eyes to what children need to do to hold onto information across a text. Solving a mystery requires close reading and thinking deeply about text. I found this genre to be perfect for covering many ELA standards. I hope you do as well!
