PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is an anchor chart I created to use with the If...Then Curriculum from Lucy Calkin's Units of Study in Reading. The unit is called Word Detectives Use All They Know to Solve Words. This anchor chart is designed for the minilessons in Bend III called Rereading to Make Our Reading Sound Like Talking. There is a template so that you can print the pieces of this anchor chart on 6" by 8" post-it notes. This chart encourages students to think about what is happening in the story, change their voice according to what is happening in the story, listen for the pattern in the text, remember words they've already read, see how much they need to read, scoop up words in phrases, and make their reading sound like talking. The minilessons I wrote for this unit as well as the Bend II anchor chart are available for free on my classroom homepage. See my store profile for the url!
