This is an assessment and parent progress report to send home after teaching from Lucy Calkin's Unit of Study for First Grade called Readers Have Big Jobs to Do. In the assessment, students must verbalize two strategies for solving hard words as well as one tool for understanding our books (a comprehension strategy). The parent progress letter explains to the parents what was taught during the unit, what the current expectations are for the students and details how their student is progressing.
