This resource includes an assessment for Virginia 2nd Grade Reading (2.6, 2.7, 2.8 only) Standards of Learning (SOL). I have my students place all of the assessments in their data binder at the beginning of the year and after learning a skill, students complete the page assigned as an assessment on only that skill. Students who master the skill receive a sticker or check mark on their “Standards I’ve Mastered” page. Students who need more practice with the skill, have the standard highlighted and attempt showing mastery again after further instruction. Each child works until they can show mastery of the skill. I love this binder because it’s fluid and students are always given the opportunity to improve. This binder also comes in really handy during parent conferences and during SOL review time.
These reading assessments are graphic organizer pages and templates designed to be used with texts on your student's level. This product does not include passages. The majority of skills have more than one template on a page because the skill is designed to be revisited. For example, there are 4 theme templates on that standard page which gives the students 4 opportunities to show proficiency with theme over the course of time and with 4 different texts.
